Falkonis is a Lithuanian defence technology company. We build passive sensors for detecting approaching drones — devices that can be left in the field for months and that reveal nothing about themselves or the position they protect.

Why we started

The threat from small, cheap drones grew faster than the tools to see them coming. The counter-drone systems that exist are largely built for high-value fixed sites: expensive, power-hungry, and often emitting. That leaves out most of what actually needs protecting — long borders, dispersed positions, substations, depots, farms and forests.

We think the gap is filled by a sensor cheap enough to deploy in quantity and independent enough to be forgotten about once mounted. That is the product we are building — Falkonis Nest.

How we build

• Passive first — nothing on the sensing path that can be located or jammed by being listened to.
• Autonomy over features — a node that dies in a month is not a perimeter sensor.
• Cost as a requirement — coverage comes from the number of nodes you can afford.
• Trusted supply chain — non-Chinese components, European sourcing where possible.

Where we are

Based in Lithuania, working towards a first field prototype. Our initial focus is the Baltic region, with Gulf state markets as a second step.
